Abstract (en)
An appts. for applying a substance in fluid form to a web of material like paper or cardboard comprises a dosing device, which works together with a counter surface, and an air knife which works in conjunction with a counter surface. There is only one single driven element forming a counter surface (1) on which both the dosing device (6) and the air knife (7) are located. Pref. the driven element is one counter roller (1). Alternatively, it is a plastic belt running over one driven roller and one or more free-running rollers or one or more fixed smooth beams. The dosing device works in conjunction with the belt as a counter surface near one roller or beam and the air knife works similarly near a second, free-running, roller or beam, either of these being split over the coating breadth into segments between which support elements are supplied. The dosing device can be a short dwell time applicator (SDTA) with a squeegee blade on the outer side of which near its edge the air jet produced by the knife is directed. The air jet is pointed directly onto the product web (5) at a short distance away from the squeegee blade edge. The air jet can be moved so that its angle of incidence on the blade or the prod. web can be varied.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Aufbringen einer fließfähigen Substanz auf eine Materialbahn (5), wie Papier oder Karton, die eine mit einer Gegenfläche zusammenwirkende Dosiereinrichtung (6) und ein mit einer Gegenfläche zusammenwirkendes Luftmesser (7) beinhaltet, enthält erfindungsgemäß nur ein einziges angetriebenes, eine Gegenfläche bildendes Element (1,4), an dem sowohl die Dosiereinrichtung (6, 6'), als auch das Luftmesser (7) angeordnet ist. <IMAGE>
