Abstract (en)
A binding and filling material consisting of a mixture of granules of max. size 10 mm and of larger aggregates with specified 3D geometry formed from compacted clay powder. Also claimed is a process for manufacturing such a material by first compacting clay powder (10) into aggregates (15) with specified 3D geometry. A part of these aggregates (15) is broken up into max. 10 mm granules (29) and mixed with unbroken aggregates (15).

Un matériau de colmatage, utilisable notamment sur un site de stockage de déchets radioactifs, comprend un mélange de granulés (29a,29b,29c), de dimensions maximales au plus égales à environ 10 mm, et d'agrégats ou berlingots (15), de géométrie tridimensionnelle définie. Les berlingots (15) sont obtenus par compactage d'une poudre d'argile quelconque ou smectitique (10) dans une machine (12) à roues tangentielles (14) équipées de frettes. Les agrégats (29a,29b,29c) formés de trois lots de granulométrie inférieure à 3 mm, comprise entre 3 et 6 mm et comprise entre 6 et 10 mm, sont obtenus par concassage d'une partie des berlingots (15) et tamisage des agrégats obtenus. <IMAGE>
