Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0753407A2] The appts. aligns sheets of paper etc. in a printer. The gripper system of a forward gripper successively detects individual front edges of the sheets aligned at the front marker of a feeder tray. The gripper system passes over to the gripper system (7,8) of a rotating feed cylinder (6) by means of a pivotal or rotating motion. At least one of the gripper systems (7,8 or 11,12) is arranged to be moved laterally, transversely to the sheets, by motorised positional members (9). The positional members are controlled by pulses. The pulses are generated by comparing the actual position of a side edge of the sheet on the feeder, determined by measuring elements (14) with a target value. A gripper system is preferably arranged on the feed cylinder (6) to be moved axially parallel. The movement is simultaneously adjusted radially to the cylinder (6). The positional elements (9) are preferably linear.
