Abstract (en)

A hydroisomerization process for the conversion of a C5+ paraffinic feedstock, especially a Fischer-Tropsch wax, and hydrogen, to middle distillates by contact thereof at hydroisomerization reaction conditions with a catalyst comprised of a Group IB metal, a Group VIB metal, a Group VIII metal, or mixture of two or more of said metals, supported on silica-alumina slurried in a paraffinic liquid. The catalyst particles are contained in the slurry in concentration greater than about 10 wt.%, preferably greater than about 25 wt.%, and the average diameter of the particles range from about 30 mu m to about 150 mu m, preferably from about 40 mu m to about 60 mu m.
