The spacer is formed by a polymer body with non-metal reinforcements and by at least one layer of glass. The spacer has a hollow profiled cross-section filled with moisture absorbing drying agent. The glass layer is connected chemically, mechanically or physically to the polymer material. It can be integrated in the polymer body. At leat one glass layer can be provided on the surface of the spacer

Als Abstandhalter für Isolierverglasungen dienen heute zumeist Hohlprofile mit rechteckigem Querschnitt aus Aluminiumlegierungen. Neben dem Problem der Wärmebrückenbildung durch den metallischen Abstandhalter beeinträchtigen diese Metallteile auch das Recyclingverhalten von Isolierverglasungen. Der erfindungsgemäße Abstandhalter besteht dagegen aus einem Grundkörper (1) aus polymerem Material und umfaßt zumindest eine Glasschicht (2), die als Diffusionssperre dient. Der erfindungsgemäße Abstandhalter ist so schlecht wärmeleitend und kann problemlos in Glasrecyclingprozesse eingebracht werden. Herstellung von Isolierverglasungen. <IMAGE>
