Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0754634A1] The belt (10) fits round a sack of powdered or granulated material to prevent it from splitting while being handled. It is cylindrical in shape and its upper edge at least is elasticated to hold it in place. The elasticated strip or cord can be sewn into one or both edges of the belt or threaded through hemmed edges. The upper edge at least of the belt has a tie cord threaded through it, or it can be fastened with strips of hooked pile fastening material. The belt can be made, for example, from synthetic resin fibres.
