Abstract (en)
The developer appts. has a toner supply chamber (3). This has an opening (7) on one side. The opening (7) is closed by a first, movable developer surface (2). A blade (4) is arranged directly adjacent the first developer surface (2) to form a layer of toner on the movable first developer surface (2). In operation, the first developer surface (2) moves from the blade (4) to a development zone (6) at the opening (7). Here the first surface (2) passes a carrier (17). A movable second developer surface (5) is arranged between the blade (4) and the developing zone (6) adjacent to or spaced from the first surface (2). In operation, an electric voltage is applied between the two developing surfaces (2,5). A cleaning device (8) for cleaning the second surface may be arranged upstream of the point of smallest distance between the two surfaces to clean toner particles from the second surface (5).

Die Vorrichtung hat zwei gegenläufige Entwicklerwalzen (2, 5). Die Walze (2) transportiert eine durch ein Messer (4) dosierte Tonerschicht zu einer Druckzone (6). Zwischen den Walzen (2, 5) ist eine Spannung angelegt, um schwach haftenden Toner von der Walze (2) auf die Walze (5) zu übertragen. Dadurch gelangen nur Tonerteilchen mit einer vorgegebenen Mindesthaftkraft in die Druckzone (6). Damit wird eine bessere Druckqualität erreicht und der Aufwand für die Elektronik bei der Anwendung in der Kontragraphie reduziert. <IMAGE>
