[origin: EP0755172A2] The heating element has a number of heating rods (5) projecting from a housing (1) containing an adjustable thermostat for regulating the water temp and fitted into a metal boiler housing provided with a corrosion protection coating, e.g. an enamel. The heating rods are made of a metal with a higher potential in the electrochemical series than the metal of the boiler housing, the outer surfaces (6) of the heating rods coming into contact with the water provided with an electrically insulating protective coating, e.g. a lacquer or plastics coating.
