Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9528345A1] A device is disclosed for combining and processing at least two paper or film webs. It comprises pay-out units (1a, 1b, 1c) in each of which a paper web (3a, 3b, 3c) with regularly spaced markings is drawn off from a roll (2a, 2b, 2c) by means of withdrawal rolls (7a, 8a, 7b, 8b, 7c, 8c). The paper web is led as appropriate over deflection rollers (13a, 13b, 13c), combined with at least one other web (3a, 3b, 3c) and drawn into a processing line (11). In the processing line (11) the at least two paper webs (3a, 3b, 3c) pass through processing units, which may be independent from each other, and are drawn into a unit (15) for further processing. Means are provided for the congruent longitudinal register control of the paper webs (3a, 3b, 3c), comprising means for creating a tension across the web width which is substantially the same in each of the at least two paper webs (3a, 3b, 3c); feelers (18, 17a, 17b, 17c) for registering the sequence of markings on each paper web (3a, 3b, 3c); and a control unit (19) which actuates a drive or braking device. The means for creating tension in the paper are drawing rolls such as rubber rolls (14a, 14b), situated after the processing line (11) and preferably immediately prior to the unit (15) for further processing.
