To improve and especially to regularise thread withdrawal on such a device, the brake band (9) lies flat on a truncated cone-shaped withdrawal sliding surface (6) on the face of the drum. In addition, the truncated cone-shaped brake band is to be spring loaded with elastic damping by means of foam ring.
