[origin: EP0756946A1] A lead pencil (8) with a rubber (6) mounted on its end in a ferrule (18) fixed to the body of the pencil has the outer body (7) and the ferrule (18) made of compatible thermoplastic materials. The base of the ferrule (21) is fixed to the end of the pencil by localised inter-penetration of the thermoplastic materials on at least one zone of ultrasonic melding.

Dans le crayon (1) à mine centrale (2) pourvu à son extrémité arrière d'une gomme (6) montée dans une virole (5) fixée sur le corps dudit crayon, le corps périphérique (7), entourant la mine (2), et la virole (5) sont dans des matières thermoplastiques compatibles,le fond (13) de la virole (5) est fixé sur l'extrémité arrière du crayon par interpénétration localisée desdites matières thermoplastiques dans au moins une zone de soudure par ultra-sons. De préférence, la matière du corps périphérique (7) du crayon (1) est expansée, ayant une densité de l'ordre de 0,5 à 0,6, et l'extrémité arrière dudit corps (7) comporte un rétreint (17), ayant localement augmenté ladite densité. La virole (5) comporte sur la face extérieure du fond (13) un épaulement notamment de forme annulaire formant un directeur d'énergie pour la soudure ultra-sons. <IMAGE>
