[origin: EP0757131A1] The bridge consists of at least one span section (5) with a central unit having an upper supporting surface (8), and access ramps (9) at each end which act as extensions to the supporting surface and can be pivoted between lower and upper positions. In the upper position the ramp can be used to connect with a lower ramp on an adjoining span member to increase the length of the bridge. The ramps are fixed in their upper or lower positions by locking mechanisms (12), each comprising at least two parallel long bolts (14) located symmetrically with the lengthwise axis of the pivot and connected to the ramp by two transverse axles (15). In addition, two transverse locking axles (16) fix the long bolts in the upper and lower ramp positions.
