[origin: EP0757168A2] The method involves determining correction points for the characteristic field at least three operating points from the difference (DMK) between a desired value and the actual value of an operating parameter. At least one correction plane is defined by at least three operating points and the associated correction values. Each point on the correction plane acts as a correction value. A fuel quantity signal can be used as the operating parameter; the actual fuel quantity is determined starting from an air quantity signal and a Lambda signal.
