Abstract (en)
An image forming apparatus which is adapted to transfer an image onto a roll sheet (4C) fed out of a roll body (4C1) which is transported through a transportation path (D3) to an image forming section (20, 22, 24). When a user opens a front door (1b) of the image forming apparatus and sets a new roll body (4C1) around a feed reel (53) thereof, the leading edge (4C2) of a roll sheet (4C) fed out of the roll body (4C1) is located at a predetermined position in the transportation path (D3). When the user closes the front door (1b) upon completion of replacement of the roll body (4C1), a safety switch (501) is switched off. In response thereto, the feed reel (53) is driven, and reciprocative transportation of the roll sheet (4C) is repeated a plurality of times, so that the roll sheet (4C) is moved back and forth with respect to the direction of transportation thereof. Thus, the attitude of the roll sheet (4C) is corrected, whereby the leading edge (4C2) of the roll sheet (4C) is aligned with a line perpendicular to the transportation direction. <IMAGE>
