[origin: EP0757409A1] The connector includes a pin-strip housing containing pin contacts (2). A multi-chamber socket housing with socket contacts connectable to electric lines (42) is inserted on the housing and locked by means of a snap connection. In order to provide an extremely compact structural design for the connector and effective securing of the socket contact inside the socket housing, a cover cap (20) is pulled on the plug contact side of the socket housing (30). It is pushed or pulled back on to the socket housing (30) orthogonally to the plug-in direction.
