An apparatus for pulling a cylindrically formed bag-making material along a filling cylinder with a pair of pull-down belts (4) for a bag maker-packaging machine includes a pair of belt-supporting members (18) adapted to move towards or away from each other, and biasing springs (22) for providing each of the pull-down belts with a biasing force which depends on the relative position between the pull-down belt and the corresponding one of the belt-supporting members. <IMAGE>
