[origin: EP0759484A1] The loom with a lance weft insertion mechanism has permanent magnets (9) positioned along the lance strip (8) line, to give a magnetic guide action. A ferro-magnetic unit (12), at the frame support (1), is on a continuous line under the sliding surface (3), to support the moving lances, along the lance longitudinal axis. Each magnet (9) has a symmetrical section parallel to the magnetic direction and the longitudinal axis of the lance strip (8), and with a max. length on the symmetrical section (13). The ferro-magnetic unit (12) also has a similar symmetrical section (14), with the max. thickness on its symmetrical section.
