A procedure for operating at least one lamp of a specified type from a defined energy source has as the first step, viz. the determination of the lamp type, a given voltage or current applied to the lamp and the resultant current or voltage ascertained, from which the type is found. There is a controllable electronic unit to supply the voltage or current, two input devices for other information and a sensor to determine the current or voltage. There is a storage unit for the data. There is a signal generator between the control unit and the electronic unit. The sensor is a photoelectric one. The control unit is a microprocessor.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Schaltungsanordnung zum Betreiben einer elektrischen Lampe (L) eines vorgebbaren Lampentyps an einer definierten Energiequelle (PS). Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren weist die Schritte des Erfassens einer den Lampentyp der Lampe bezeichnenden ersten Information (INF1) und den Schritt des Ansteuerns der Lampe in Abhängigkeit der lampentypbezeichnenden ersten Information auf. Diese erste Information kann beispielsweise durch einen Sensor SENS1, der einen lampentypindividuellen Betriebszustand erfaßt, oder durch eine Eingabeeinrichtung vorgegeben sein. <IMAGE>
