Abstract (en)

[origin: DE4417533A1] A NC-grinding process for the circumferential edge and top facet of a spectacle lens is disclosed. The length of the circumference of the facet-receiving groove apex of a selected spectacle mount is determined, the length of the circumference of the apex of a top facet is determined in the area of the circumferential edge of a spectacle lens to be mounted in said spectacle mount and worked according to the personal optometric data of the spectacle user, the length of the facet-receiving groove is compared with the length of the top facet and if required the position and/or the course of the top facet on the circumferential edge of the spectacle lens is modified, so that the deviation between the length of the facet groove and the length of the top facet lies within predetermined admissible limits. The top facet is then finished according to the values resulting from the comparison and if necessary modified.
