Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0760217A1] The fastener comprises a domed plastic button (2) and a fixing component, pref. metal (3) protruding from the underside. This distorts on being thrust through pref. flexible material so as to engage with the latter and has a radial circular holding flange (4) at the top, and which expands to engage inside a cylindrical wall on the button. The intermediate portion (7) of the component immediately preceding the flange, which is at right angle to the component axis, includes an acute angle with the latter, or is radiused. On pressing the component in the axial direction, this portion bears against a supporting zone (8) on the button underside and extending to the cylindrical wall (6), causing the flange to expand.
