[origin: EP0760256A1] The disintegrator has a cutting roller (3) with a counter piece (6) that forms a convergent roller gap (7) with it in the feed direction of the cut pieces. This counter piece has longitudinally running gap wedges in the cut piece's inward drawing direction. The cutting roller is formed as a hollow drum. This drum has apertures (8) in front of the cutting blades (5) for the wood chip's passage. The apertures widen in a direction axial to the hollow drum. The drum has a face-side ejection opening (23) in the direction of the apertures. The gap wedges are located parallel to each other. The counter piece is rotatably located on the housing of the disintegrator.
