Abstract (en)
The tool has a guide (4) with bore (11) for the driving piston (1), while at the rear end of the bore is a connecting drilling (7) to a cartridge chamber (6). A base portion (5) encloses the drilling, while the guide is enclosed by a portion (8) of the housing clear of it in the radial direction. The intervening passage (9) so formed is connected to the cartridge chamber and also by a port (10) to the guide bore. A further port (12) in the housing can be shut off, and the passage contains a valve (13) which can be shut, forming an accumulator chamber sealed off from atmospheres and including the driving side of the passage and the guide bore. A distance-piece (2) on the base portion (5) of the guide has a transvers stop face (5) which is of smaller area than the base portion. The piece can alternatively be on the driving piston, and its surface area can be between 0.04 and 0.5 times that of the base portion. its height in the axial direction can be between 0.05 and 0.2 times the piston diam., and its surface (3) can form part of a circle, being typically at the piston edge.
