[origin: WO9533901A1] A façade construction for buildings is proposed, comprising substantially vertical upright members (1), substantially horizontal spanning members (2) securely attached to the upright members, and flat panels which are fixed, via the appropriate sealing frames (4), against the upright and spanning members on the side facing away from the building; the upright and spanning members (1 and 2 respectively) are securely fixed at specific points to the building. Both upright and spanning members are formed from units (7) which are T-shaped in cross-section and transverse elements (8) which are U-shaped in cross-section. The longitudinal web (12) of the T-cross-section unit (7) is slotted into the space between the two longitudinal flanges (15, 16) of the transverse element (8) and joined by means of a screw (17) which passes through the transverse flange (16) of the transverse element (8). The panels (3) are slotted into the space between the transverse flange (10) of the T-cross-section element (7) and the front faces (20) of the longitudinal flanges (15, 16) of the corresponding counter-element (8) through the corresponding sealing frames (21, 22) and securely fixed by the screw (17).
