[origin: EP0761122A1] An optionally refillable portable packaging assembly (1), for a liquid to pasty product, particularly mascara, comprises an applicator (3) and a container (5) with at least one bristle cleaning device (19). The applicator (3) includes a handle (7) and at least one cluster (12) of bristles implanted in parallel with the mid-plane of the handle, wherein the bristles (11) have a determined shape and length and are capable of loading said product, particularly mascara, on keratin fibres, particularly eyelashes. The length of the container (5) is substantially equal to that of the applicator bristles.
