[origin: EP0761530A1] The folding boat (1) has a folding transverse stern panel (4) and a rigid reinforcing panel (8) which is fixed to the outside of the folding panel when deployed so that in covers the whole of the folding stern panel to protect it and act as a support for a motor. The rigid stern panel has a peripheral rim (8A) which at least partially covers the outer edge of the stern (P) when in the deployed position. The stern has at least one U-section bracket (7) to receive the lower edge of the rigid panel, and the upper corners of the rigid panel have lugs (10) for fastening it to the sides of the boat's hull. The panel is made in one piece from a synthetic material.
