The appts. has a printer device (18) which is movable transverse to a transport direction of the material (24) e.g. paper. The printer device (18) prints on the paper in a print region. The paper is passed through the print region along a transport path. The appts. also includes a blade wheel (46) which is movable transverse to the transport direction and parallel to the print region. During a cutting process, the blade wheel is in engagement with a cutting bar (76) such that flat material (24) arranged between the blade wheel (46) and the cutting bar (76) is cut. The blade wheel (46) is arranged on the printing device (18). The cutting bar (76) is movable between a cutting position, in engagement with the blade wheel (46), and a rest position outside of the transport path.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Drucker (10, 100) mit Schneidefunktion zum Bedrucken von Flachmaterial (24, 104), mit einer quer zu einer Transportrichtung des Flachmaterials (24, 104) bewegbaren Druckvorrichtung (18, 114) zum Bedrucken des Flachmaterials (24, 104) in einem Druckbereich (D), wobei das Flachmaterial (24, 104) durch den Druckbereich (D) längs eines Transportweges hindurchgeführt wird. Nach Beendigung des Druckvorganges wird das Flachmaterial (24, 104) mit einem quer zur Transportrichtung parallel zum Druckbereich (D) bewegbaren Messerrad (46, 140), das während eines Schneidevorganges mit einer Schneideschiene (76, 146) im Eingriff steht, geschnitten. Das Messerrad (46, 140) ist dabei an der Druckvorrichtung (18, 114) gelagert und die Schneideschiene (76, 146) ist zwischen einer Schneidestellung im Eingriff mit dem Messerrad (46, 140) und einer Ruhestellung außerhalb des Transportweges bewegbar. <IMAGE>
