Abstract (en)

The compound material contains at least a textile fabric of synthetic polymers and at least one random mat structure of yarns. The yarns, at least in one direction, contain reinforcement fibres and deep-melt bonding fibres. Also claimed is a mfg. process where a textile fabric is produced conventionally. At least one random mat is fed to it, with yarns in one direction of reinforcement and deep melt fibres to lie on one surface of the fabric, and a further similar mat can be laid on the other side. A high temp. and/or pressure is applied to the layers so that the bonding fibres melt to give an adhesion between the layers and give the final material its end strength. In the random mat, the bonding fibres are partially melted to bond the laid yarns together at their intersections.
