[origin: EP0761889A1] The protection barrier has a central reserve(1) separating two carriageways with opposite flow traffic. Posts(4) embedded in the ground(5) are longitudinally spaced along the centre strip, and halfway up the posts and on the upper ends, on both sides, are fastened C-form extruded sections(7) shot-welded together. Tubular buffers(21) are provided in the vertical transverse planes of the posts and halfway up them, and are positioned between the C-form extruded sections and trough-form reinforcing profiled sections(24) on the carriageway side of the construction.
