Abstract (en)
The casing (1) includes a base (2) made of a precious metal, e.g. gold or platinum, and having thin walls with various shapes. In order to improve protection against mechanical shocks the casing walls are curved. Reinforcement ribs (23) are also provided inside the casing. A wrist strap (4) is attached to the casing. An opening in the casing bottom enables insertion of the watch mechanism (11). A lid (6) covers the opening and is fixed with screws (60). A sealing ring (10) prevents water infiltration inside the casing. A dial (14) is fixed on the casing top surface and covered by a glass windows (7).

Montre (1) comportant une carrure (2), une lunette (15) et un fond (6) assemblés entre eux de manière amovible. La carrure (2) en or ou en métal précieux est évidée et fabriquée par électroformage. Un cercle d'emboîtage (5) est introduit dans la carrure, de manière à laisser un évidement creux entre la face interne (20) de la carrure et le cercle. Le cercle d'emboîtage en acier ou en matériau synthétique (5) sert à maintenir le mouvement et les composants internes de la montre (7,8,11,14). Le cercle d'emboîtage (5) est maintenu à l'intérieur du boîtier par compression entre une surface d'appui inférieure (22) appartenant au fond amovible (6) ou à la carrure (2) et une surface d'appui supérieure (21) appartenant à la lunette amovible (15) ou à la carrure. Le cercle d'emboîtage (5) est introduit ou extrait de la carrure en démontant la lunette et/ou le fond. De préférence, les moyens d'assemblage du boîtier ne traversent pas les moyens d'emboîtage. <IMAGE>
