[origin: EP0762345A1] The coin sorting system has a guide channel for coins formed between plates Ä12,14Ü . Located in the channel are pivot mounted plates Ä18,20,22,24,28Ü and these are operated by electromagnets Ä27Ü that are spring return Ä29Ü. The top plate acts as a deflector to a return guide track Ä44Ü and also traps any coin supporting filament against an edge Ä30Ü. This is used to suspend a coin Ä76Ü in an attempt to obtain repeated triggering of the mechanism. Built into the channel are pair of opto electrical sensors ÄA,BÜ that measure the time for a coin to pass. If a set time is exceeded a warning signal sounds.
