[origin: WO9534109A1] Mechanical safety device (1) for transmitting electric current and for connecting the electric plug (2) of an electric apparatus to a fixed wall outlet (3) or to an extension lead. The safety device consists of a connection box (4) including a flexible power cord (5), one end having a plug (6) for connection to the wall outlet (3), while the other end supplies the connection socket (7) of said safety device (1) together with said electric plug (2). The device includes a mechanism for ejecting said electric plug (2) which is actuated by a traction force on the safety device (1), said ejection mechanism being located in the region of the connection socket (7) of the safety device (1). The device of the invention is suitable for electrical connectors.
