Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0763831A1] The spreaded structure for e.g. a 4-pair cable comprises two L-section folded metal cores (15) in contact along their apices, forming a conducting X-section over which are extruded polyethylene fins (16) Opt., the metal cores are omitted and the fins are of semi-conducting or carbon-loaded polymeric material. Twisted pairs (1,2,3,4), each comprising two insulated (6) cores (7) are laid up between (14) the fins and the screening is completed by foil or metallised tape wrapping (13) in contact with the fin edges. A protective sheath (5) is then extruded over all.
