[origin: WO9632030A1] The proposal is for a gas-heated personal appliance, e.g. curling tongs, a curling brush, a hair drier, a depilator or a domestic or similar appliance, with a gas tank, a combustion chamber and a valve fitted between the tank and the combustion chamber to control and/or regulate the quantity of gas and especially for temperature-dependent regulation. There is also a valve housing (4) with a gas supply channel (5, 15, 16) and a sealing component (6) for the gas supply channel (5, 15, 16) and an actuator (7) for the sealing component (6). The actuator takes the form of a switch operable by the user and/or a temperature-dependent adjuster (7). The sealing component (6) is operated directly by the actuator (7).
