[origin: EP0764452A2] The improved breathing mask has a full face design with a detachable filter element (12) which has a curved shape. This allows the outer ends of the filter element to lie against the cheeks of the wearer, with the centre of mass of the mask set back towards the mask. The lenses have plane central panels (5) and shaped rear panels (6) mounted in the elastic mask (4) which is made of transparent plastics. The filter element has a simple screw fitting or bayonet fitting to the air intake port (9). An outlet port (11) under the mask and a speaking membrane (10) in the centre of the mask complete the design. The mask is attached to an elastic webbing to fit over the head of the wearer.
