[origin: EP0764546A1] A recording material for ink jet printing, comprises a base(A) and a pigment-contg. ink-absorbing layer (B) contg. a carbonyl gp.-modified gelatin (I) with a residual content of up to 50 mole% free amino gps. Pref. (I) is succinic acid-modified gelatin, esp. pref. acid-degraded pig-skin gelatin. Pref. pigment comprises colloidal aluminium-modified silica, in a (pigment):(gelatin) ratio of (1:0.4)-(1:20). Layer (B) contains a cationic dicyandiamide copolymer.
