[origin: EP0764579A1] The packing process involves using a strip or tube of plastic film, which is welded into a foil hood (4). The foil hood is stretched horizontally and vertically onto the object (5, 6). The vertical stretch is maintained upright thereafter. Depending on the shape of the object, narrowing welds (3) can be made in the foil hood if necessary. The object may be in the form of a stack (5) on a pallet (6), in which case narrowing welds are applied in the lower region of the hood against the pallet.
