[origin: EP0764819A1] The regulator consists of a single shutter (5) with a spring (9), pivoted to the forward end of a housing (1) to form a duct (2) with a section which varies with the air pressure to maintain a constant flow rate. The shutter interacts with the duct housing so that the channel through which the air flows converges in the direction of the flow for all shutter positions. The shutter extends beyond the minimal section of the canal, and the housing has a wall which faces the shutter and is inclined towards the axis of the canal from front to rear. The wall (7) can be made adjustable to vary the air flow through the duct, and the channel (8) can be made with an axis which is inclined relative to that of the housing. During operation the position of the shutter varies with the force of the aid flow through an aperture (10) beneath it, maintaining the flow through the duct at a constant rate.
