[origin: EP0766347A2] The connector has a housing (1) with at least one contact chamber (2) for accepting a contact element (3) plugged in from the cable side. A plastic locking device (6,8) has a locking tongue (6) mounted on the contact chamber wall (4) with its free end (7) towards the plug side of the housing. A secondary securing slider (8) which can be slid into the occupied contact chamber is yoke-shaped at the insertion end, with arms formed by a locking wedge and an inversely wedge-shaped counter arm enclosing an oblique yoke opening. The locking tongue is guided in the yoke opening between a latching position and an end latching position when the secondary securing device is inserted.
