Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0767111A1] The system consists of a vehicle (1) which has a platform equipped with a shredder (3) and a moist atmosphere compacter (4). The shredder is fed with paper and cardboard at a rate commensurate with its operation. The compacter is mounted in series with it and its operation is at least partially automatic while the vehicle is in motion. The waste paper and cardboard are put into an open container (7) carried by the vehicle and movable between a lower position for filling and an upper one in which it is emptied and acts as a cover for the shredder. The compacter forms the shredded material into bales, and is controlled by an electronic detector. Both shredder and compacter are driven from the vehicle engine.
