[origin: EP0767288A1] The drive system for a closing element like a gate, door, roller blind or window, has a motor, a sensor to assess the position of the closing element, an operating unit for authorised personnel and a control unit. The motor exerts a closing force that depends on the position or change of position of the closing element. When the element is fully closed, no more force is generated. As soon as it has reached a certain position in the opening direction, the force increases to a maximum value. When the element closes, the force is adjusted to give a soft closing process.
