Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0768258A2] The equipment for discontinuous winding of strip material (13), and especially an adhesive ribbon strip, has two winding spindles (10,11) which are driven alternately, rotating freely on a swing drum (4). They act alternately as a winding spindle, in one position, and as a reserve spindle in the other position. A cutter (21) severs the strip material when the assembly is at rest. The equipment has a unit (25) to tense the strip material during cutting and laying. The tensing unit has a spring to give the strip stretching action. A control acts on a brake system to act on the spindles.
