Items such as fences, doors, windows are monitored by acoustic sensors that detect any attempt at illegal entry. The sensors are coupled by power lines and signal lines to a central alarm system. Each sensor has a self test unit that is acoustically coupled to the sensor. The sensor output is transmitted to the central unit in modulated form The self testing system is activated by triggering for a specific time interval and a number of sensors can be checked to a specific time sequence.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Einrichtung zur Überwachung von Objekten wie Zäunen, Türen, Fenstergittern o.ä., mit einem oder mehreren Körperschallsensoren, welche an eine räumlich entfernte, zentrale Auswerteelektronik angeschlossen sind. Dabei sind die einzelnen Körperschallsensoren jeweils mit einer Selbstprüfungseinheit akustisch gekoppelt, und die Selbstprüfungseinheiten sind von der zentralen Auswerteelektronik aus aktivierbar. Die Aktivierung der Selbstprüfungseinheiten geschieht durch Modulation der Betriebsspannung der Körperschallsensoren, so daß hierfür keine zusätzlichen elektrischen Verbindungen zur Auswertelektronik nötig sind. <IMAGE>
