[origin: EP0769471A1] The machine comprises an optical sensor (1) for detecting the liquid level in a bottle (5) filled with a product (3). After detecting the presence of the bottle, level detecting commences, and the level is detected by means of a beam (4) sent across two cells (2). As a preset level is detected the filling valve will be closed. Mounted in the filling nozzle are sieves (9) to prevent foaming of the liquid. <IMAGE>
