[origin: EP0769582A1] Apparatus for vertical sizing of textile weaving warp is based on collecting drum (1), sizing section (2), drying zone (3) and warp beam (4). The sizing section (2) comprises lower warp guide roll (5) also acting as tangential guide roll in relation to the lower sizing roll (8); (b) 2 sizing systems (K) on either side of the warp (12), each with a pair of rolls (7, 8; 9, 10) for applying a uniform film of size to the warp; (c) upper warp guide roll (190 and/or first drying drum (20) also acting as tangential guide roll in relation to the upper sizing roll (9); and (d) a drier (T). In the sizing section, the thickness of the film of size across the width of the warp is ensured by the controllable gap (S) and a constant degree of sizing is obtained by the differential speed between the rollers (8, 9) and the warp. The pairs of rollers (7, 8; 9, 10) are supplied with size from an associated reservoir through a filter, pump, pipe and drainage pipe for recycling excess size to t he reservoir. The individual components of the apparatus are arranged vertically so that warp passing over the sizing rollers tangentially. Also claimed is the size used in this apparatus.
