[origin: EP0769589A1] The sweeping roller (2) is fixed to a hydraulically raisable and lowerable support device. In the direction of travel and in front of the sweeping roller a swept material catchment housing partly open to the sweeping roller is arranged with a conveyor worm (4), motor driven and running parallel to the roller. This worm conveys laterally outwards the material picked up by the roller. The swept material catchment housing enclosing the conveyor worm has on its front side a wall section (32'), which is movable and adjustable between a lower closed position and a raised open position so that it forms a slot-type front opening with a static conveyor floor (27). Through this opening during travel cleared material enters directly into the swept material catchment housing and is picked up by the conveyor worm.
