[origin: EP0769597A1] The lock (10) has a main body (12) forming a fixed stator which is installed in a lock casing or vehicle door housing. It also has an intermediate stator (14), in which a rotor (16) rotates. An outlet part (18) is connected to a lock control mechanism. Locking parts (59), such as piston pairs, engage the rotor and the intermediate stator. This causes them to rotate together in the absence of a key and free the rotor from the stator after introduction of a key. The lock body consists of an external cylindrical annular skirt (20) closed at its axial front end by a bottom disc (24) with a central circular hole (26). The bottom has a notch (28) which emerges axially from the bottom side and opens radially towards the hole interior. The notch receives an indexing spherical ball (30) for indexing the intermediate stator relative to the body. The indexing ball immobilises rotation of the outlet part relative to the body when it is retracted.
