Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9637397A1] The invention concerns driven running gear, in particular a bogie, for railway vehicles with a gauge-adjusting arrangement. Single-wheel running gear (70) accommodates a wheel unit (90) consisting of a wheel (94), axle journals (92, 96), non-rotatably connected thereto, and pivot bearings. The wheel unit (90) is axially displaceable as a unit in the single-wheel running gear (70). The axle journal (96) engages with a wheel gear (100) which is flanged to the single-wheel running gear (70) and absorbs the axial movement of the axle journal (96). The wheel gear (100) is driven via a longitudinally displaceable propeller shaft (72) by means of a prime mover (30) mounted separately from the single-wheel running gear. This design produces running gear which can be driven at high speeds and has an adjustable gauge.
