[origin: EP0770551A1] The device makes packages (10), which are especially for cigarettes, and which are to be transported along an exit conveyor (19), or are to be directed onto a rejection path along a separate conveyor (45). The packages are supplied on an endless conveyor belt (15), and selected packages can be raised from this to a receptacle conveyor, which is in the form of a wheel (26) with a rotary drive. The wheel has receptacles (27) spaced around its perimeter, in order to grasp individual packages, and is synchronised with the conveyor belt. A receptacle is activated by resting on a package, in order to grasp the latter.
