[origin: EP0770825A1] The gas burner has a mechanically operated gas feed control, for automatically controlling the opening and closing of the gas supply to the gas burner (1) in response to the movement of the burner grid (12) due to the weight of a cooking pan being placed on it or lifted off. The movement of the burner grid operates an electric microswitch (6) controlling a magnetic valve (9) inserted in the gas feed line to the burner.
