Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19539155C1] A process for drying washed clothing in a drum dryer in which the items are revolved by rotating the drum entails rotating the drum together with a blower fan in the same direction or in alternating directions and blowing heated air through it, the power of the fan being increased in the forwards and decreased in the reverse direction. The procedure has start, main drying and end phases and the temp. in the air circulation is measured. The drum and fan are continually run in the forwards direction in the start phase and in alternating directions in the end phase. In the main drying phase it is only when a max. preset temp. has been reached while running in the forwards direction that alternate running is switched in for a period which is either preset or ended when a preset min. temp. is reached. Also claimed is a similar process where the dryer has a condenser in the air circulation and temp. difference at the condenser is also measured. When a preset condenser temp. difference has been reached, i.e. not temp., alternate running is switched in and switched back when a preset min. temp. difference is reached or a preset time span. In the end phase forwards running only can be selected.
